Vicorp Announces General Availability of xMP 4.0
London, 2nd June 2006: Vicorp has today announced the availability of xMP 4.0, the latest version of their awarding winning service creation technology suite. This release completes xMP's port to the Eclipse framework and provides a number of other key benefits including enabling easy integration of other complimentary Eclipse based tools.
One Tool, Many Customised User Views Vicorp has long advocated that many different skill sets will be used in developing an application. For example, a business analyst will require a high-level view of the functionality of the service, a service creator will require the ability to quickly flesh out the high level view whilst a Java specialist will simply be interested in how the application will interface with external systems. xMP's Eclipse release will support the requirements of each of these users, and many more, whilst also providing a single common framework for smaller projects where the same individual will complete all the tasks. Putting Your Brand First Vicorp's xMP provides a "Rich Content Management capability, enabling a business user to tailor the content of their application. They can now fully manage their brand and re-purpose the application for multiple languages to serve their wider customer self-service needs, all this independent of the service logic. Using a simple interface and a custom view that provides only the detail that the Content Manager needs, new brands can be added to a service quickly and cleanly reducing the costs associated with deploying and managing separate services for each brand. Easily Integrate Complimentary Eclipse Tools xMP's Eclipse release will provide the ability to easily integrate new Eclipse based tools into the xMP framework. Vicorp will be announcing several pre-integrated tools in due course, and organisations using xMP will be able to utilise the framework to integrate other tools quickly and easily. Commenting on xMP 4.0, Dr Paul Mellor, Vicorp's CTO, said, "This release is a huge step forward for xMP and provides a platform for easily extending the functionality of the toolset with complimentary Eclipse based tools. Using xMP will make it easier and more efficient than ever to create, brand and deploy world-class applications and services, without the need for in-depth coding knowledge and expensive proprietary skill sets". Vicorp VP Sales Craig Ashmole added "Initial feedback from our existing customers on pre-release versions of our Eclipse tools has been hugely positive. Our willingness to listen to and respond to our clients demands for Eclipse based tools, as well as improving the usability of xMP for use by the wider business audience are areas where we are receiving the most positive feedback ".
